Vialle wins maiden MXGP overall in Switzerland

Sunday 29^th March 2026:  Honda HRC PETRONAS rider Tom Vialle secured his first MXGP overall victory at the Swiss GP in just his third attempt, dominating race one from 18th gate pick and charging from outside the top 20 to sixth in race two—an impressive comeback that puts him just seven points off the championship lead. Teammate Ruben Fernandez narrowly missed the podium despite a strong opening race, while Jeffrey Herlings lost a potential win after a mechanical issue while running second but remains within 12 points of the lead. In MX2, Valerio Lata delivered consistent performances for fifth overall, continuing his upward trend as the championship heads into a short break before the upcoming races in Sardinia and Trentino.

 

F1: Suzuka, Japan

Alonso secures team’s first finish of the season at the Japanese GP

Sunday 29^th March 2026:  Round 3 of the Formula 1 season, the Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka Circuit, saw Fernando Alonso fight from P21 to P18, taking the chequered flag and marking the team’s first race finish of the 2026 season. He made an early move on Valtteri Bottas at the opening corners, while Lance Stroll also gained ground from P22 before later retiring due to a car issue. The race featured a Safety Car following Oliver Bearman’s crash, prompting both drivers to pit, but Stroll’s second stop ended his race prematurely. Alonso continued alone, recovering from a late off to finish P18 and meet the team’s goal of completing the race distance. Formula 1 now heads into a break, with racing set to resume at the Miami Grand Prix in early May.

 

US GP: Circuit Of The Americas

Fifth for Marini in exciting US GP Sprint Race

Sunday 29^th March 2026:  At the Sprint race at Circuit of the Americas, Luca Marini delivered a strong performance, climbing from ninth to finish sixth before a post-race penalty for Pedro Acosta promoted him to fifth—his second-best Sprint result with Honda HRC—though a separate qualifying penalty will see him start 11th in Sunday’s race. Johann Zarco also impressed with consistent progress to ninth and valuable points, while Joan Mir showed front-running pace but crashed while battling for third on the final lap. Meanwhile, Diogo Moreira was unable to convert his qualifying form into results, ending in a DNF, as all four Honda riders now turn their focus to the 19-lap Grand Prix on Sunday.

 

WorldSBK 2026: Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, Portugal

Honda HRC navigates challenges on Day 1 of the Portuguese WorldSBK round

Sunday 29^th March 2026: It was a tough opening day for Honda HRC at Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, as Somkiat Chantra and Jonathan Rea faced early challenges in the opening practice sessions of the Superbike World Championship round. Chantra, making his return from injury and debuting as the first full-time Thai WorldSBK rider, focused on rebuilding confidence and fitness, finishing 20th overall after two sessions. Rea, stepping in for the recovering Jake Dixon, worked on bike setup but lost valuable track time after a crash in the afternoon session, ending 18th.

On the day of competition, Rea made further progress in the closing stages, with the Honda HRC test driver crossing the finish line in second place to earn four championship points. Meanwhile, Chantra crossed the finish line in fifteenth place, securing his first championship point. The Honda HRC team will return to training to prepare for the third round, scheduled to take place at the TT Assen circuit in the Netherlands from April 17-19.

 

INDY 2026: Barber Motorsports Park, Alabama - USA

Alex Palou, Honda win Barber IndyCar race for second-straight year

Monday 30^th March 2026:  Alex Palou delivered a commanding performance at Barber Motorsports Park, securing his 21st career NTT IndyCar Series victory and second win of the 2026 season after leading 79 of 90 laps and finishing 13 seconds clear. The Spaniard’s third win at the venue moves him to within two points of the championship lead. Graham Rahal celebrated a strong return to the podium in third, while points leader Kyle Kirkwood finished fifth to maintain his perfect top-five streak this season. Additional top-10 finishes for Honda came from Marcus Armstrong, Scott Dixon, and Marcus Ericsson, while Will Power made up 11 places to finish 12th. The race ran caution-free, with the series now heading to the Long Beach Grand Prix.
